Newtown Lodge #427, constituted in Newtown, PA by the R. W. Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania on November 8, A.D. 1868 (A.L. 5868). We are located on the corner of Edgewood and Heacock Roads in Woodside, PA.
Masonry is the oldest, and largest, fraternal/charitable organization in the world. It is not a “secret society”, nor is it a religion. It is a men’s organization devoted to the betterment of mankind through the betterment of the individual. To a Mason, it is a path to “enlightenment” through study and practice; it is a way of life. (Please see additional information in the The Guide to Freemasonry page).
Freemasonry in these modern times must keep pace with changing times while holding fast to our traditional values, customs and usages. If we are to remain relevant today as in our past, we can no longer place the hopes of our great Fraternity in doing things as we have always done them. The essence of our fraternity, Brotherly love and respect for the moral virtues we espouse must remain steadfast; however keeping up in our ever-changing world needs to be a top priority. Changing how we stay informed should not affect the former while progressing with the latter.
Please visit this site often, although it is not a replacement for coming out to Lodge, it will help our members to communicate with each other.
Respectfully and Fraternally,
J. Ronald “J.R.” Dotsey, Worshipful Master, 2013
